Effect of natural fish tail palm fiber on the workability and mechanical properties of fiber reinforced concrete

To improve the pre-cracking behavior and post peak strength of concrete composites, a new variety natural fiber called Fish Tail Palm Fibers was used as micro reinforcement in concrete. (FTPF) are completely renewable resources available abundance, many parts country including India. Three different volume fractions, (0.1%, 0.2% 0.3%, three lengths fibers (10 mm, 20 mm 30 mm) were chosen parameters for investigation. Silane treated FTPF added to fresh mechanical properties studied. The slump values slightly affected by increase fraction fibers, viscosity increases with content. compressive control specimen MPa (M30). maximum strength, splitting tensile flexural Fiber Reinforced Concrete (FTPFRC) specimens 36 MPa, 2.82 4.2 respectively, which recorded 0.2 Volume Fraction (VF) Length (FL). flexure is about %, 22% % addition VF fibers. findings indicate that incorporation fish tail palm reduced work-ability But characteristics such impact resistance enhanced content length.
